Alternative to Dr Marten boots?

I live in Colorado, so I need a boot that can handle the elements. I currently have a pair of Docs, and I love them except they have horrible traction in snow and ice. I'm looking for boots that have similar looks and durability, but have better traction and overall performance in winter. Any recommendations?
