Do certain car washes mess up your 4WD?!?

Twice I've been to one of those car washes where you put ur car in neutral and it pulls it along. Both times as I'm pulling my car had no traction or control. The last time when I tried to turn on the main street my car felt like it was hydroplaning and I had no control. I didn't gain full control til I shifted into park and back into drive. Is this because my jeep is a 4-wheel drive vehicle? If not what do you think it is?
