Is it ok if my 5 and a half month old sleeps on his stomach?

I put my 5 and a half month old to sleep on his back, but when I wake up in the morning he is turned over on his belly...laying his face into the crib mattress. Since he's a little older, should I still worry about him suffocating and/or SIDS? Thanks!
